About the Friends Organization

 

Friends is a 501(c)(3) - EIN: 83-4409594. The Friends organization supports quality library services through advocacy, fundraising, and volunteering in ways that promote the policies and long-range plan of the library. We are a volunteer organization interested in supporting, improving, and expanding literacy-focused library services and resources at the Highwood Library & Community Center.

Mission

 

  • Support the Highwood Library & Community Center

  • Focus public attention on library services, facilities, and programming needs

  • Promote the welfare and growth of the library

  • Receive and encourage gifts and bequests to the library

Functions

  • We help fund educational opportunities for our patrons the library would not otherwise be able to offer

  • We support library programs by raising funds for performers, supplies, and prizes

  • We raise money for items not in the regular library budget

  • We provide critical volunteering support at events
